We photographed Nancy, Buck, Bennett, and Rachael for the first time in May and both Scott and I were ridiculously excited to meet up with them again last weekend to get some new family portraits. Rachael has definitely moved on to independent + walking toddler, and Bennett always amazes me with how smart he is and how intrigued he is by everything around him.

You can see the entire set of photos on our proofing site, and I had to include this great moment that Scott caught of Bennett and I watching the ferry boats.

We already can’t wait until next time!

The light was SO DREAMY that day, I couldn’t get enough of it.



Ok. This freaking amazing photo that Scott took. I was editing these, stopped dead in my tracks when I got to this photo, and had to upload it to tumblr immediately. Scott’s been an incredible photographer since far before we met and it’s been such a fun journey to watch him fall in love with photography all over again and really hone his skills. He’s blowing me away nonstop and is starting to keep me on my toes!
That. Smile.

I wanted to make sure to get a few photos of Becky and Gary together without Esther. I’m so glad I did; I adore you guys.




A super fun perk of photographing kids is that occasionally we get to experience some “firsts” in their lives. This was Esther’s first encounter with a water fountain and it had all of us cracking up.
ANOTHER first was rolling down a hill. Esther looked at Becky like she had lost her mind when she showed her how to do it. So fun!

Am I missing anything?

Ok, maybe it wasn’t EXACTLY like that, I could’ve missed a few things. BUT, what I definitely know is that David is one of the hardest working people I know in both his professional and personal life, and I’m so so glad that we reconnected and are now, once again, BFFs. It was so fun for Scott and I to finally meet the entire Schwen clan and reconnect with this awesome family.

I adore you all and can’t wait for many more pizza nights.
