After having so much fun in Seattle with James and Rachelle during their engagement session Scott and I couldn’t wait for their wedding day. I have 8 brothers and sisters, so it’s pretty rare that I meet someone with a bigger family than mine, but Rachelle totally trumped me with 16(!) brothers and sisters. Walking into Rachelle’s parent’s house in Mukilteo was so fun for me because there was so much energy and life, it reminded me of being with my own family. The connections between all of the siblings was really beautiful and made for a great start to the day.

James and Rachelle, thanks so much for inviting Scott and I to be a part of your day. We hope you had an amazing time on your epic 3-week honeymoon!

I just have to say that I adore the entire Biebl family. Laura and I had a photo biz in Minneapolis and Saint Paul for a few years, and starting that with her was definitely one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had. When Laura’s sister, Sara, asked me to shoot her wedding I knew that I had to do it, even though I was planning on moving to Washington, so last week Scott & I headed back to my homeland to document her and Tony’s day.

This session is a perfect example of why I love to do engagement sessions before weddings and why I always include them in my wedding package. Scott and I met James and Rachelle last spring in Bellevue to meet about their wedding. It was a great meeting on a beautiful day, but we didn’t really get to know THEM. We’ve exchanged emails and phone calls, which helps a little, but it doesn’t really paint the whole picture. On Wednesday, though, we met at Parsons Garden in Seattle for their engagement session and by the end of the session I was totally in love with them and SO EXCITED to shoot their wedding next month.

Rachelle and James are adorable and have so much fun together, which made for a perfect session for Scott and I because everyone knows we’re totally ridiculous. They scouted out some perfect locations for us and were willing to climb trees and roll around on the ground; dream clients!

dave + molly zimmerman . wedding

I met Dave when I was still living in Duluth. The first time we hung out we went snowboarding at Spirit Mountain and Dave’s shoes got stolen in the chalet. If you know Zimm, you know that this kind of thing is not unusual, and you also know that’s probably not the end of the story. It’s not. His car keys were, of course, inside his shoes.

Luckily there weren’t any major catastrophes on the wedding day, aside from Jim (the father of the bride) forgetting his suit at home.

You both are so awesome and I loved being with you on your wedding day; laughing nonstop, of course.

When Jody and I first met there was some crazy drama. We were all living in Duluth and looking for a house to live in. Three girls found a great 6 bedroom house that was perfect and so close to campus, so they devised a great plan. Each of the 3 girls would find 1 other person to bring into the house. 3 girls + 3 girls = 6. 6 bedrooms. Done, right?

Wrong.

We show up at the ‘meeting’ and 2 of the girls brought their 1 person, but 1 of the girls decided to bring 3. Jody was one of the 3, and while there was insanity at first she’s turned into one of my closest friends. 4 of us that lived in that house are still super close, and after Jody’s wedding I am now the sole single chica. (they aren’t as good at dodging bullets as I am). jokes, jokes.

Love you, ladies!!!

Ok, ok, enough about the girls. Joe entered the picture while we were all living in Duluth and I think that all of us loved him immediately. Even enough to forgive his Wisconsin roots and Viking disdain.

All of these photos have my name on them, but I was lucky enough to pull Laura Biebl in to shoot this wedding with me for a little BeeTour revival.

Jody’s a teacher and there were kids all around at this wedding, it was so great. At one point when she was overwhelmed she said “where are the kids, I just need the kids!”

I had such an amazing time shooting Cassie+Nick’s wedding. I traveled to Madison with two of my favorite people ever, we stayed at the kindest people’s home, and then got to go to a gorgeous gorgeous outdoor wedding at the Governor’s Mansion on Lake Mendota. Everything about their wedding had such a great homegrown-organic-made-with-love feel that it was like a dream to shoot, and I had such a connection to Cassie+Nick’s style that I didn’t have to over think everything, I could just shoot from my heart.

Congratulations, Cassie+Nick! I’m so happy that you chose to listen to Jay’s begging and let me capture the moments of your day!

Cassie & Nick had an unbelievable gorgeous wedding at the Governor’s Mansion in Madison, WI. I can’t wait to show you all of the photos from the ceremony, but for now how about the photo booth movie?!
