I’ve said it before, but one of the best things about moving back to Minneapolis is reconnecting with old friends and family. I hadn’t seen Niles + Annie in far too long and had never met little Eloise. Last Saturday we finally fixed that when we spent a great fall morning together catching up, laughing a lot, and photographing their adorable family.

Lynnea is Jay’s sister, so over the years I’ve spent some time with her, Stephen, Maya, and Peyton when big events happen and all of the friends + family get together. It was so great to finally spend a couple hours with just them, as a family, in front of my camera, and be able to document the connection that they all have together.

I also think it’s so great that they chose to do a photo session while Maya and Peyton are at these ages. So often parents schedule sessions when their kids are younger, and then the pre-teen + teenage years tend to go undocumented until high school senior portrait time comes around. It’s such a unique age and time as a family that deserves way more attention than it’s given, so I’m always excited when families inquire about these sessions.

Check out some of my favorite moments below and then be sure to watch the slideshow at the bottom to see our entire adventure.

Trish is an amazing massage therapist that saved my life a few weeks ago when a giant stress-ball climbed into my shoulder/neck/back/everywhere and wouldn’t leave. She asked me to do a photo shoot with her and her adorable pups, Finn + Cullie, and we lucked out with the most gorgeous fall morning at the Minnehaha Dog Park.

Enjoy!
